 091 - WWII GERMAN ARMY
M-1935 DOUBLE DECAL APPLE GREEN HELMET COMPLETE WITH LINER AND CHIN
STRAP – NEAR MINT!
Price: $3,200.00
This is a magnificent example of a WWII German Model
1935 Army double decal helmet with the very early apple green finish in
near mint condition. The helmet retains its beautiful apple green
finish and is complete with full liner and chinstrap. Both the Army
eagle and National Color decals are 95%-98% and are just gorgeous.
There is a very small spot under the eagle’s left wing that was chipped
and then retouched (by whom? And when?). This may or may not be
contemporary and could be removed if desired. Personally, I would leave
it as found. It in no way detracts from the beauty or scarcity of this
magnificent piece. The leather liner is in pristine condition and
without any type of damage whatsoever. All fingers are complete, strong
and supple with the original dome cord at the tips completely intact.
The liner size, “57” is ink stamped at the top of one of the fingers.
The liner is held firmly in place by the liner rivets, which are factor
tight and have never been out of the shell. The shell size, “Q64” is
deeply stamped in the interior left flange and the number “510” on the
interior of the back flange. The dome stamp is bold, nice, sharp and
dated, “1938”. The helmet has a full length chin strap that is strong,
pliable and without damage. The apple green finish to the shell is ever
so slightly worn in a few areas but again, nothing at all distracting.
This is a scarce and beautiful looking M-35 in superb condition. You
won’t be disappointed.
