This is a very nice U.S. World War II Purple Heart Medal set in its original titled black leatherette presentation case awarded to Sergeant Lenwood Tuttle, ASN 20111364, 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division who was killed in action September 22nd, 1944 in Holland during the opening stages of Operation Market Garden. The Individual Deceased Personnel File gives Sergeant Tuttle’s race as “White”, Religion - Catholic, Home State – Worcester County, Massachusetts, Buried – Private Cemetery in Mass. by request of Next of Kin. This medal serves as a noble symbol and reminder of one brave soldier’s sacrifice and the resultant tragedy brought to one of the many thousands of families who lost a loved one on the field of battle in the defense of our freedom. The price of that freedom is high and continues to be paid for in blood to this very day.

image062 - WWII 101ST AIRBORNE, 501ST PARACHUTE INFANTRY REGIMENT DI’s – THEATER MADE PAIR IN PLASTIC!

Price: $1,200.00

This is an extremely scarce set of World War II theater-made DI’s to the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. These are the plastic type DI’s and both are in excellent condition showing practically no wear to the paint on the obverse. The insignia is that of the open parachute with the Indian chief’s head below and with the legend “Geronimo” at the bottom. The reverse of both pieces is blue plastic and each is complete with its fully functional pin assembly. These are not a perfectly matched set but are so close that you can only tell they are not a matched set by looking at them very carefully. A VERY scarce pair in a condition not normally encountered.

image063 - WWII U.S. AIRBORNE PARATROOPER JUMP WING WITH INVASION ARROWHEAD- EXTREMELY SCARCE BB&B MARKED PIECE!

Price: $1,500.00

This is a stunning and extremely scarce World War II Paratrooper Jump wing made by the prestigious Philadelphia Company of Bailey, Banks and Biddle. The wing is very well struck and exhibits beautiful detail to the wing feathers, canopy and shroud lines. Affixed to the center of the wing is a bronze invasion arrowhead that is held in place by two, small, delicate company installed bronze rivets. A more beautiful attachment on a jump wing you will never see. The reverse of the left wing tip is marked, “BB&B” and the reverse of the right wing tip “Sterling”. The pin assembly is complete and fully functional. Both the obverse and reverse side exhibits a beautiful and mellow age tone. This is the scarcest of all the WWII made paratrooper jump wings and this particular one is the finest example I have ever seen.
